Hello, I'm Dee, some know me as DeeVA from my day job as a self-employed Graphic Designer & Forever Living Distributor. I am originally from South Africa & Namibia, but have settled in Scotland for now. It's absolutely beautiful here and I am looking forward to seeing more of it once I have shed this outer shell and come out to explore all the things I've missed over the years. I am an adventurer at heart even though it doesn't come across that way at the moment. That's because I have been using my weight as an excuse not to get out there. I'd only end up embarrassing myself. Since my late teens my weight has just continued to increase to the point that I'm getting worried about my health, and considering my age (38), my lack of mobility is shocking. My current top speed is pretty dismal, and I intend to address this matter once and for all!
A NEW CHAPTER... The Chapter with Atlantis Leisure is over, but the Journey is far from over. My quest for a healthy lifestyle continues hand-in-hand with my quest for a better life! Through the power of Aloe! There is no longer any doubt in my mind that I have found my true passion. A desire to help people in any way I can, all over the world. Watch this space as the story unfolds.... Dee Rudiger 20 April 2015 THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER I found out about Atlantis Leisure's Greatest Loser Competition and decided to enter. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to get the much needed guidance and support I need to make fitness a long term habit rather than a passing fad. I have tried and failed many times, but I am convinced that it's support and encouragement from a larger community as part of the initiative that may well be the factor that I've missed over the years. I've never been accountable to anyone, not really… Being on my own, all I do is shift the goal posts. Very convenient in the short term, but I see now that in the long term it's robbed me of a meaningful life, and has replaced it with just existing. Don't get me wrong, I've had a good life - a few ups and downs - but in the big scheme of things I have been VERY fortunate and things have always gone my way. Most of the time it's by the skin of my teeth (it seems inherently I like living on the edge), but still... I count myself lucky. My confidence in myself has always been very low. Somehow my self worth has been attached to how much I weigh. I am looking forward to increasing my confidence which in turn will enable me to do the things I have always dreamt of, including taking my two businesses to new levels, travel, meet new people and ultimately, one day I hope that I'll be able to help and inspire people who are on the same Journey. Thank you again Atlantis for this wonderful opportunity. Looking forward to meeting new people, in my community and through the blog. Dee Rudiger 8 October 2014 |
